Ibadan Woman Stabs Husband to Death Over Domestic Dispute

A 33-year-old woman, Comfort Olalere Tinubu, has been accused of fatally stabbing her husband, Olusegun Tinubu, 39, following an argument in their home in the Gbeyi community of Adegbayi, Ibadan. Sources reveal the tragic incident unfolded on Wednesday night around 10 p.m., reportedly sparked by a disagreement over Comfort allegedly locking her husband out of their bedroom.

The couple, who have been married for three years and share two young children, were involved in a heated argument that escalated, leading to an alleged physical altercation. According to an insider, “It started with an argument, but unfortunately, it ended in violence when Comfort allegedly stabbed Olusegun in the back.”

The case was initially reported to the Gbagi Police Station before being transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Iyaganku, Ibadan.

State police spokesperson, Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the incident and assured that investigations are underway. “The case is under investigation at the Homicide Department of the State Criminal Investigation Department of the Command. Updates will be provided accordingly,” Osifeso stated in a brief release on Friday.

This incident has left the community in shock, as residents and family members grapple with the tragedy that has deeply affected the Tinubu family.
