Lagos Court Orders Arrest of Access Bank Acting MD, Bolaji Agbede, Over Alleged ₦1.356 Billion Theft

A Lagos State High Court has issued an arrest warrant for Bolaji Agbede, the acting Managing Director of Access Bank, alongside three others: Balmoral International Limited, DDSS International Company Limited, and Adejare Adegbenro. The defendants are accused of conspiring to steal a property worth ₦1.356 billion, belonging to Gbolahan Obanikoro, son of former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro.

Court documents reveal that the defendants allegedly used the property of MOB Integrated Services, located at Plot 40b, Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, as collateral for a ₦1 billion loan without authorization. The transaction led to a consent judgment involving the property.

The accused face a four-count charge, including conspiracy, stealing, and attempted theft. Justice Ibironke Harrison issued the arrest order after the defendants failed to appear for their scheduled arraignment.
