The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has made arrests related to suspected vote-buying during the ongoing Edo State governorship election.

The arrests occurred around 10:00 am in Egor Local Government Area, where EFCC officials apprehended two men and one woman; suspected of involvement in vote-buying activities. However, local residents have protested, claiming the suspects are being unfairly targeted.

Saturday’s election features 17 candidates, with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC), and Labour Party (LP) candidates being the front-runners. Asue Ighodalo represents PDP, Senator Monday Okpebholo is running for APC, and Olumide Akpata stands for LP
