President Bola Tinubu, on Friday, expressed regret over the failure of past Nigerian leaders to invest in critical sectors like infrastructure, education, and community development during the oil boom.
The President made these remarks while hosting a delegation of Former Presiding Officers of the National Assembly, led by former Senate President Ken Nnamani. He reassured Nigerians that his administration is focused on delivering tangible results in infrastructure, food and energy security, education, and ensuring long-term economic stability.
At the meeting, President Tinubu emphasized that his role is to serve the country, not for personal gain. “I didn’t come to look for money or exploit the situation; I came to work. I asked for the votes, and Nigerians gave them to me,” he said, following a cordial session of banter and handshakes with his former parliamentary colleagues.
