President Tinubu Praises Military for Recent Successes Against Terrorism in Northwest Nigeria

In a significant development, President Bola Tinubu has expressed relief and optimism following a series of successful military operations targeting terrorist threats in Nigeria’s northwest region. In a statement released on Saturday, the president emphasized the military’s dedication to restoring peace and stability amid ongoing security challenges.

The operations, conducted by troops from Operation Hadarin Daji, resulted in the elimination of the notorious bandit leader Halilu Sububu, who had terrorized Zamfara, Sokoto, and surrounding areas. Additionally, another high-profile terrorist, Sani Burki, was neutralized in Katsina during a collaborative military effort, while a terrorist enclave in Kaduna was dismantled, leading to the rescue of 13 kidnapped students.

President Tinubu, in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, noted, “The success of these operations reaffirms the capability of our security forces to safeguard the nation.” The statement, titled “President Tinubu Commends Military on Successful Operations in the North-West, Pledges Sustained Support,” reflects the administration’s commitment to addressing Nigeria’s security issues head-on.

These military victories follow President Tinubu’s directive to service chiefs to relocate to the affected regions until stability is fully restored. He commended the military leadership, intelligence agencies, and troops for their bravery and collaboration in achieving these significant outcomes.

In his remarks, Tinubu highlighted the overall improvement in the nation’s security and urged security forces to sustain their momentum until all threats are completely eliminated. He reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering support for their mission to ensure the safety and security of all Nigerians.
