Chevron Nigeria Spends Over $1 Billion Annually on Local Content Development

Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL) has announced that it spends over $1 billion each year to support local content development and create contract opportunities across its various projects in the country. This was revealed by CNL’s General Manager for Policy, Government, and Public Affairs, Mr. Olusoga Oduselu, during a one-day Media Capacity Training for members of the Warri Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists.

The event, held at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State, was sponsored by Chevron. Mr. Oduselu, represented by Chevron’s Communication Representative, Praise Saheed Akinbola, highlighted Chevron’s efforts in reducing carbon emissions and curbing gas flaring in Nigeria.

He also emphasized that Chevron is committed to making impactful investments, particularly in its operational areas, stating, “CNL aims to make human investments that deliver long-term transformative returns. This is achieved through our Nigerian Content development activities.” Oduselu added that Chevron actively supports Nigerian content by employing Nigerians and creating contract opportunities across all its projects.
