NURTW Leader Kokozaria Sentenced for Alleged Attack on Nollywood Actor Lawori

Ganiyu Oyedepo, popularly known as Kokozaria, a prominent figure in Lagos and a leader in the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), has been sentenced to prison for allegedly orchestrating an attack on Nollywood actor Ade Adele, also known as Lawori.

The incident reportedly occurred at a party in Idimu, Lagos, on June 25. Court documents shared online reveal that one of Kokozaria’s associates attacked Lawori by striking him with a bottle and stabbing him with the broken shards.

Kokozaria was charged with four counts, including assault causing injury, conspiracy to commit a felony, and disturbing the public peace. He is accused of recruiting others to carry out the attack.

Following the widespread online attention surrounding his arrest, Kokozaria posted a video on social media, where he appeared to be dancing with one of his daughters. In another video, several craftsmen were seen cheering him on, offering prayers and declaring that his enemies would not succeed in bringing him down.

However, sources close to YouDonHear have reported that Kokozaria fled to the United States shortly before the court issued its sentencing. The source suggested that Kokozaria is now a target because he is no longer affiliated with MC Oluomo, a well-known figure in Lagos transport politics.

YouDonHear had previously reported on Lawori’s public allegations, where the actor posted a video accusing Kokozaria of sending his men to assault him at the Lagos party.
