The Lagos State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to providing inclusive and quality education for every child through its \u201cNo Child Left Behind\u201d policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mrs. Abisola Dokunu-Adegbite, made this known while monitoring the commencement of the 2026 Screening Test for admission into Model Colleges and upgraded Junior Secondary Schools across the state. The exercise is being coordinated by the Lagos State Examinations Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She explained that the screening test forms part of the assessment process for Primary Six pupils seeking admission into secondary schools and contributes to the continuous evaluation of learners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dokunu-Adegbite commended the candidates for their proficiency in the use of computers and laptops during the Computer-Based Test (CBT), describing it as a positive reflection of the state\u2019s investment in technology-driven education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also called on parents to remain dedicated to supporting their children\u2019s education, stressing that education remains the bedrock of societal development and progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Permanent Secretary, the screening test is the only approved criterion for placement into the state\u2019s Model Colleges and upgraded Junior Secondary Schools and is strictly reserved for Primary Six pupils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She further applauded Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat for their sustained interventions and investments in the education sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking after the exercise, a parent, Daniel Ajayi, praised the government for strengthening public confidence in government-owned schools. He noted that while many parents previously preferred private schools, the improved quality of public education has encouraged more families to enroll their children in state schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ajayi also commended the introduction of CBT examinations, saying the initiative has significantly enhanced learning outcomes and modernized the education system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the candidates, Chubiyo Williams, described the examination as straightforward and expressed confidence in achieving a successful result, attributing his preparedness to diligent study and prayers ahead of the test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
