The maiden edition of the Honda Captain\u2019s Squash League Series ended on a high note at the Squash Section of the Lagos Country Club after five days of intense competition, camaraderie and top-class performances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tournament, which ran from April 27 to May 1, 2026, attracted more than 36 registered players from the club\u2019s Squash Section, making it one of the most competitive internal league events hosted by the section in recent times. The grand finale took place on Friday, May 1, at the club\u2019s squash courts in Ikeja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Chairman of the Squash Section, Sesan Asani, said the competition was designed to deepen unity among members while raising the standard of squash within the club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe mission of the Honda Captain\u2019s League Series is to encourage the spirit of competition, foster unity, build team spirit and improve the standard of the game of squash within the section,\u201d Asani said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Managing Director of Honda Nigeria, Daisuke Mita, praised the turnout and the quality of play displayed throughout the tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are impressed with the turnout of members and the quality of play witnessed during the competition. It reflects the top-quality performance and brand promise that Honda represents,\u201d Mita said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

He also assured participants and organisers of Honda\u2019s commitment to sustaining the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe look forward to an even bigger league series next year,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Also speaking, Head of Sales, Marketing and Logistics at Honda Nigeria, Remi Adams, described the tournament as a successful partnership between the automobile company and the club\u2019s squash community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are excited by the outcome of the competition and will continue exploring more ways of collaborating with the executive committee of the Squash Section to further drive the value of the Honda brand among our target audience,\u201d Adams said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The successful debut of the Honda Captain\u2019s Squash League Series has already sparked anticipation among members for a bigger and more competitive second edition next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
