{"id":30298,"date":"2026-04-23T16:09:14","date_gmt":"2026-04-23T15:09:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/youdonhear.org\/?p=30298"},"modified":"2026-04-23T16:09:14","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T15:09:14","slug":"fubara-endorses-tinubus-second-term-urges-continuity-for-reforms-and-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/youdonhear.org\/?p=30298","title":{"rendered":"Fubara Endorses Tinubu\u2019s Second Term, Urges Continuity for Reforms and Development"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has thrown his support behind President Bola Tinubu\u2019s re-election bid, saying continuity is essential to sustain ongoing reforms and national development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking on Thursday in Port Harcourt during a meeting of the Southern Traditional Rulers Council, Fubara said the current administration has made measurable progress despite prevailing challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThere is visible advancement in economic recovery and infrastructure delivery, including major projects like the coastal road,\u201d he said. \u201cIt is not ideal to change the goalposts in the middle of the game.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fubara emphasized that stability in leadership would help consolidate gains already made, while calling on stakeholders across southern Nigeria to work together. \u201cUnity remains the cornerstone of sustainable development,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The governor also highlighted the significance of hosting the gathering in Rivers State, noting that the presence of monarchs from all 17 southern states underscores the state\u2019s peaceful atmosphere and its capacity to host major national engagements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier, the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, who chairs the council, said the meeting was convened to promote peace and strengthen regional unity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis council reflects the diversity of our nation, with over 400 dialects spoken across the southern states. Yet, we stand united,\u201d Ogunwusi said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He explained that the Port Harcourt meeting is the fourth in the series, following earlier sessions in Imo State, Ogun State, and Lagos State.
