He is scheduled for release on October 11, 2025.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, May 19, when Ayo was taken to the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) passport office in FESTAC Town under suspicious circumstances. According to reports, Ayo was among five inmates assigned menial duties at the residence of the facility’s officer-in-charge. During the outing, a junior officer, allegedly acting on orders from a superior, instructed the supervising warder to release Ayo into his custody.

Ayo was then escorted to the NIS office, where his presence aroused suspicion.
