The award is aimed at honoring the legacy of the late Kofi Annan, a former UN Secretary General and a passionate advocate for safer roads in Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Ogungbemide, the recognition stands as a \u201cbadge of honour\u201d for Nigeria and a testament to President Bola Tinubu\u2019s unwavering support for the FRSC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis award is not just for the Corps; it\u2019s a reflection of President Tinubu\u2019s belief in our ability to be a model agency for Africa,\u201d he said. \u201cOur consistent efforts to reduce road crashes and promote safe driving have finally gained continental recognition.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reacting to the honour, the Corps Marshal, Malam Shehu Mohammed, expressed deep gratitude to Nigerians and stakeholders in the road safety ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis award is a testament to our unrelenting passion for road safety and the collective support of the motoring public,\u201d Mohammed stated. \u201cWe\u2019ve achieved this feat through strategic innovation, public education, community engagement, and full deployment of technology and safety protocols.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He emphasized the importance of collaboration, noting that partnerships with local and international stakeholders have been central to the Corps\u2019 success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The award was received on behalf of the FRSC by the Principal Staff Officer to the Corps Marshal, Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM) Meshach Jatau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The FRSC&#8217;s recognition reinforces Nigeria&#8217;s growing reputation as a leader in road safety management across the African continent.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has been named the best road safety agency in Africa, receiving the prestigious Kofi Annan Road Safety Award at the 3rd edition of the ceremony held in Ezulwini, Kingdom of Eswatini, South Africa.
